Petit Jean Baptist News
“Come to the Mountain for His Word”
What is Expected?
It is August! What do you expect, it is goanna be hot. We still have between one and three months of warm/hot weather. Weather report aside, we have just completed our Christmas in July offering for the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home and are beginning our Dixie Jackson State Mission Offering.
This mission offering not only brings us to fresh awareness of state missions, we get to reflect on our neighbors who gave offerings in the past to help us build our building and get First Baptist Petit Jean off the ground. I expect us to help our state reach the missions goals we have set and for us to be blessed as we do so.
We Lift Up In Prayer
We have many on our prayer list who are dealing with heart problems, battling cancer or just need a special prayer: Phyllis Adams, Pauline Belk, Fern Bess, Paul Bess, Linda & Phil Chapman, Lattie Debarr, Hugh Donnell, True Fitch, Gwyn Gasaway, Lew Gasaway, Agatha Gasaway, Dina Gasper & Ellen Long, Ben Lancaster, Sharon Leon, Jay Scroggs, Bro. Bill & Reta Scroggs, Jeanie Scroggs, Loyd Vance, Unspoken Requests, Our Missionaries, Our Military, All Law Enforcement Officers, Our Local & National Leaders, The United States of America and her people.
Gracious Heavenly Father, we come to you thanking you for each day you give us and for the many blessings we enjoy. We pray that you will wrap your loving arms around each one in need of your healing touch and grant them peace and health, according to your will. In Jesus name I pray. Amen

We are happy to welcome two new members this month. Greg Gasaway came for church membership on the promise of his letter from Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Dumas, Ar. Greg has been faithful in worshiping with us for some time and has participated in several areas of church work. Jeffrey Curtis came for church membership on profession of faith and a desire to be baptized. We rejoice with him as he continues to worship with us and grow as a young Christian. May the Lord bless both of these new members and may we be a blessing to them.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Our kids will be back in school soon and need your help. The Morrilton Schools are collecting “Box Tops for Education”. These are found on several kinds of cereal, some cake mixes, soup cans and a variety of other places. A baggie has been placed on one of the bulletin boards in the hallway. There you can see just what we are asking you to save and a place for you to deposit them.
Our landscape committee has been hard at work making the South area and flower beds beautiful. Below you can see what they have been doing.
