“Come to the Mountain for His Word”

Summer’s Here… Probably

School books are put away. Reta has celebrated the final day of school. Students are celebrating almost as fervently. Notice I said, “almost as fervently.”

Temperatures have hit the high eighties and then just as quickly we found ourselves with fifties and low sixties reminding us that maybe we weren’t quite there yet.

Certain things use to signal the approach of summer, but not so much anymore. Shorts at one time indicated summer had arrived, but anymore you see shorts in December and January, even worn with a coat.

Flipflops also were a part of summer wear, but again they are seen year round even a crowning addition to your wardrobe worn with heavy coats.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us, “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.”

Yes, there is a time and season for everything, but the lines sure have blurred. So, Summer is here… Probably.

MISSIONARY MOMENTS

Starting New Churches Among Montana’s Ranches

[Montana] ED SMITH’s assignment is to start new churches in eastern Montana. Though the size of Maine, the region has only 85,000 people. Most of the pastors are bivocational since the churches typically average only 30 to 60 attenders. One significant challenge in starting new churches in the region is finding church planters who have the skills to work on the region’s ranches, which provide most of the jobs. Ed is grateful for your gifts through the Cooperative Program and asks you to pray for God to guide him as he works in these small ranching communities. He also asks you to pray for the pastors who serve the region.

We Lift Up In Prayer

Blake Chapman, Robbie Collinsworth, and John Savage Morgan are serving in the military.

We have many on our prayer list who are dealing with heart problems, battling cancer or just need a special prayer.

Wayne & Phyllis Adams,  Pauline Belk, Fern Bess, Paul Bess, Mable Brannon, Ken Campbell, Linda & Phil Chapman, Walter Chapman, Gene Cook,  Lattie Debarr,  True Fitch, Julia Frances, Samantha Frances,  Lew Gasaway, Lonnie & Agatha Gasaway, Caleb Hughes, Ben Lancaster, Sharon Leon, Shannon Riner, Jay Scroggs, Bro. Gracious Heavenly Father, we come to you thanking you for each day you give us and for the many blessings we enjoy.   We pray that you will wrap your loving arms around each one in need of your healing touch and grant them peace and health, according to your will.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
