“Come to the Mountain for His Word”
Is It Spring… Yet?
by Rev. Bill Scroggs
Regardless of what the groundhog said, and knowing he is wrong a greater percent of the time than he is right, we would just be forced to rely on the calendar, except for our Annie Armstrong Easter Offering! The AAEO is a sure sign of spring around the corner. I know we are all looking forward to spring as well as the AAEO. This year’s theme for the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is, ‘Sending Hope.’
Spring is the time of year where our hopes are realized as temperatures rise back to normal and trees and flowers start budding and blooming. Just as spring brings hope to us, our offerings bring hope to those in North America where the offerings are distributed.
Jesus is the hope of the world and more than at any time in my lifetime I see the need for hope in our country. North America has a great need of a fresh touch from God like has seldom or never been felt in our lifetime.
The focus verse for this year 1 Peter 1:3 which says, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
Because we have hope through Jesus Christ we can “Send Hope” throughout North America.

ANOTHER PROJECT FOR FIRST BAPTIST PETIT JEAN
The church purchased an American flag and light for the Petit Jean Fire Department. The flag was hung and the light installed by some of our hard working men. Wayne Adams, Bob Cody, Clayton Jones and Nolen Owen got the job done. It wasn’t a real safe job and we thank them for their bravery and effort.
