“Come to the Mountain for His Word”

March, 2020

March Right On In

I guess we must have slept through that day of Winter this year. As some have put it, “I’m over wishing for snow, come on Spring!”  Some people are looking forward to ‘March Madness,’ but I for one wish all the ‘madness’ would cease. We have seen enough madness for the past several months if not the past 3 years to last a lifetime.

The good thing about March is that we know Spring is near. Not only that, but ‘Daylight Saving Time’ will be here next week. For some that is good and for some that is not so good but it is sure to create some more intense discussion.

The exciting news is our daffodils are blooming and my all-time favorite grape hyacinths are starting to show off. Robins are here along with many other types of Spring birds.

One of the great things about March is we get to participate in the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering! The 2020 theme is “It’s All About the Gospel”. The scripture verse is “For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 CSB). The national goal is $70 million.

As we enjoy the warmer weather pray about how we can participate in the opportunity to give that others might hear the gospel (the good news.)

2020 Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

March 1, 2020 to March 8, 2020

“It’s all about the Gospel” is the theme for this year’s Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions. The Annie Armstrong Missions Offering emphasis is not just an opportunity to give our money, but an even greater opportunity to impact our neighborhoods and communities with the wonderful news of God’s involvement in our lives. All of us are painfully aware of the lost condition of people with whom we bump shoulders every day. These lost people are our neighbors – people right down the street from our houses. They need to know of the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

Working together we can be difference-makers in sharing the Gospel across our land. The suggested dates for this emphasis are March 1-8, 2020. During this Week of Prayer for North American Missions, consider how you can make a Kingdom impact by praying fervently, giving sacrificially, and going intentionally to work alongside our Southern Baptist missionaries to do our part in sharing God’s powerful message of hope and forgiveness.
