“Come to the Mountain for His Word”

 March 2016

 An Early Easter

By Bro. Bill Scroggs

March is upon us and we are already getting ready for Easter, since it comes early this year. Preparing to celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is always a spring event that revitalizes our hearts.

Longer days, budding trees, sprouting grass and blooming flowers make us excited for the warmer weather spring brings.

Even though we have not had a really bad winter, most of us are ready for an end to the cold weather and the colds and flu and other seasonal opportunities that come with this time of year.

It is never too early for us to prepare our hearts for the celebration of the Resurrection. In fact, the beauty of the season is we can enjoy a risen Lord every day all year long.

The good news of Easter is found in Matthew 28:6 which says, “He is not here, He is risen just as He said He would.”

What a blessing to know that we are included in His plan.

Missionary Moments

Set Free in Omaha
MICHAEL O’HARA and his family minister to people who live on the fringe of Omaha, Nebraska -folks like gang members, inner-city youth and prisoners. They run a free, live-in discipleship program and a prison transitional living program, as well as a feeding site that serves three meals a day. They also have a theological school to train leaders, pastors and missionaries who are interested in inner-city ministry. Their church, Set Free, has baptized 300 people in the past four years. Pray for the family as they live and serve in this tough ministry. Give generously through the Cooperative Program to pour resources into North America’s major cities for God’s glory.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering

Beginning March 6, we will be receiving the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions.  Our goal this year is $1,500.00.  The theme of this year’s offering is “Here I am, Send me” Isaiah 6:8.  We may not all be called to go into the mission field, but we can help support those who are with our offerings.  Our offerings allow missionaries to spread the word of our Lord and Savior.  The offering ends on Easter Sunday, March 27.  Please keep this offering and our missionaries in your prayers.

Hat Day

Our Annual Hat Day is set for Sunday, April 3rd.  This is a fun time when we get to wear our hats and see what others are wearing.
