“Come to the Mountain for His Word”
It is hard to believe we are now two decades past the feared Y2K scare. Those of us who were at least middle aged at the time the year 2000 rolled around can remember the whoopla surrounding the changing of clocks on our computers and the computers in our cars and many other machines we use on a daily basis.
I worked for a large company that spent well over a million dollars preparing for the event that in truth was not as big a deal as the hype.
I have grandchildren born after the turn of the millennium, who are now turning into young adults themselves. They face different problems than we faced. While we tried to get our cell phone from a bag size to something small enough to fit in your pocket. We worried about running out of minutes on our cell phone while the Y2K young’uns fret over slow data speeds and over data package usage with screens too small and low-tech cameras.
With all the changes we have seen in the past twenty years, it is good that some things remain constant. The writer of Hebrews13:8 reminds us, “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, today and forever.”
I, for one, am glad for something sure on which we can depend as we begin a new decade.
